Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Planner/Station Storekeeper - Production located at Beatrice Power Station in Beatrice, Nebraska. Position closes February 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
This position will report to the Planning, Scheduling & Warehouse Manager.
Position Summary
The Planner/Station Storekeeper’s responsibilities include developing work packages, optimal sequencing of work order operations, identifying concurrent work opportunities, acquiring parts, and supporting all aspects of the performance and reliability optimization efforts. They are also responsible for materials management activities, such as material receiving, storage and handling, as well as accuracy of the warehouse inventory and stores issues. In addition, this position may be required to coordinate maintenance/contractor work.
Education, Training and Experience
BA or BS Degree (preferably in a technical field) and a minimum of 2 years’ experience as described below (OR) Associates Degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 4 years’ experience as described below (OR) High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 8 years’ experience as described below.
Experience in operations, maintenance, electrical, instrument and control, engineering, planning, scheduling, warehousing, or inventory management.
Demonstrated proficiency with automated planning, scheduling, and understanding use of NPPD human performance tools is preferred.
Demonstrated broad based understanding of work management processes and overall integration of NPPD's key enabling processes (Work Management, Logistics (Materials Management), Financial / Controlling, and Human
Resources) is preferred.
Extensive experience in applicable business unit discipline is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop/process preventive maintenance plans designed to ensure equipment reliability, and/or execute safety and regulatory compliance requirements; Analyze job requirements, including job hazard analysis, associated with each assigned notification. Determine materials, equipment, labor, permits, post-maintenance testing and other items or resources necessary to complete work; Develop/process work execution plans designed to meet safety, quality, cost and timeliness objectives using approved maintenance and operation strategies. Apply lessons learned from previously completed and similar work. Strive for continued personal and overall process improvement. Coordinate planning activities with other NPPD work groups and external vendors. Actively participate in group meetings, feedback sessions, etc. Develop, review and revise work management guidelines, standards and task lists, as necessary.
Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with the various crafts and Operations departments; Review the material transactions daily for new parts, reservations and other inventory-related activities. Confirm that items ordered are valid, active inventory, available and within minimum / maximum targets. Resolve discrepancies with the requesting department; Accurately record transactions in the Logistics system to ensure inventory record integrity. Issue direct charges for items not managed by the system. Maintain historical files of critical inventory transactions. Receive incoming materials delivered by carriers or NPPD trucks. Inspect materials for damage and file claims when material is damaged. Verify that orders are complete; generate received reports; and label and put material into inventory. Deliver material to customers when requested. Coordinate material and inventory management activities for investment recovery and hazardous materials. Activities may also include leaded and unleaded gas, on-road and off-road diesel, gas bottles, and other materials; Print inventory cycle count sheets, count inventory, review inventory counts and reconcile cycle count discrepancies. Recommend changes to internal procedures to improve inventory accuracy; Administer the District and plant stores policies, procedures, and practices; Direct the day-to-day warehousing activity (as applicable). Must be able to operate, and train others to operate all warehouse equipment; Work extended work weeks (60 to 84 hours per week) and irregular hours, including holidays, weekends, and night shift as needed, primarily in support of (but not exclusive to) station outages and emergencies.

In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Pay Grade - 13
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $7,053.00 - $8,816.00
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
