Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Services Coordinator I OR II - Human Resources Operations located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska.  Position closes Wednesday June 25th at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. 

This position will report to the Human Resources Operations & Employee Relations Manager.

Position Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Services Coordinator I provides operational support to the HR Operations & Employee Relations Manager, the HR Business Partner Supervisor, and the HR Business Partner team by facilitating HR processes, handling administrative tasks, and acting as a key liaison between employees and HR functions. This role is essential for ensuring that HR initiatives are executed smoothly, contributing to a positive employee experience and the overall effectiveness of the HR Operations and Business Partner teams.

Education, Training and Experience

Human Reources Coordinator I - HR Operations
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, (OR) Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred with two years’ experience as described below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and four years of experience as described below. 

 

Human Reources Coordinator II - HR Operations
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with 2 years’ experience as described below, (OR) Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred with four  years’ experience as described below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and six  years of experience as described below.  

 

Prior Related Experience:

Experience providing support in a team environment is required. Experience using computer technology and an understanding of desktop applications (Microsoft Office Products) is required. Previous experience in recruiting or as an HR Administrative Assistant is strongly preferred.

Incumbent will be expected to acquire and maintain knowledge of NPPD’s organizational structure, legal requirements pertinent to the position, NPPD policies and HR standards, and the application of these requirements based on job duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assist HR Business Partners with daily administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, processing reports, and maintaining HR databases, as requested. 

 

Provide exceptional customer service to walk-in traffic at NPPD’s Cooper Nuclear Station’s HR Office. Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures, providing timely and accurate information. Follow up on inquiries and take to the appropriate partners to assure satisfactory resolution.

 

Support administrative recruiting processes as requested by the HR Business Partner team. Support activities include but are not limited to, conducting reference checks, sourcing candidates for open positions, auditing interview notes for completion, uploading interview documentation to SuccessFactors, and advancing candidates through the SuccessFactors recruiting module, as requested. 

 

Responsible for arranging recruiting engagements by registering for career fairs, coordinating attendance for events, maintaining the recruiting event database, planning and participating in career days, and ordering all printed and NPPD branded materials needed to support career engagement activities. 

 

Support the onboarding processes for new hires. This includes ensuring appropriate information is provided to new employees, scheduling appointments as required, processing NFLOW requests, receiving and processing information from employees, ensuring accuracy in all new hire paperwork, and uploading new hire documentation to the appropriate database within the required timeframe to maintain compliance. 

 

Participate in the identification of process improvements within HR operations and work to enhance the efficiency of HR operational processes. Order office supplies, update and create reports, administer CNS specific employee recognition programs, and provide confidential information and reports from employment records to management, colleagues, employees, and outside agencies as requested, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations regarding employee information. 

 

Support administrative tasks related to employee offboarding such as scheduling exit interviews, collecting NPPD property and returning it to the appropriate location, assisting with retirement celebrations, etc…

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range.  Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $4,062.00  - $4,976.00

 

Human Reources Coordinator II - HR Operations
Pay Grade -
9 Monthly

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $4,455.00  - $5,569.00


Travel Required:
Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska)  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.

Retirement Savings

NPPD employees may participate in two retirement plan options – a 401(k) plan and a 457(b) plan. Both plans allow for pre-tax or Roth contributions. After the first six months of employment, the 401(k) plan includes a generous matching contribution from NPPD. The five-year vesting period begins on an employee’s hire date. Our retired employees are eligible for retiree healthcare benefits as well as a life benefit paid out to designated beneficiaries upon their passing.
