This position begins on or around February 1, 2022 and will conclude no later than 1 year after the initial start date.  Employment relationships may continue beyond that time period as business need dictates.  

 

Position Summary

 

This is a temporary, entry-level, technical position as an Information & Telecomm Technology Support Technician located at Cooper Nuclear Station.

 

Incumbent will provide initial support to computer users through the installation and maintenance of various scripted desktop hardware and software components within a Windows environment.

Education, Training and Experience

 

The Intern must be enrolled in an accredited two‑year or four‑year college/university carrying a minimum of 12 semester units or 8 quarter units with sophomore, junior, or senior standing in a related major and must maintain enrollment throughout the internship. The internship/training must be in the student's field of study. College credit may apply to some internships.  Intern applicants must be working toward an associate's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or Business and have completed their first year of college at a minimum. 

 

Candidates applying as a temporary hire must have a minimum of 2 years of IT experience.  An associate's degree in a related field is required, however, equivalent years of relevant experience can be used to meet this requirement.

Licenses and/or Certifications

 

The incumbent may travel to CNS satellite locations in Auburn, NE and must have and maintain a valid driver's license for the duration of the position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

Setup, maintain, and repair District-owned computer hardware and software assets, including printers. Perform routine equipment maintenance ensuring software and hardware are maintained with current security patches or versions. Maintain equipment inventory.

 

Install, test, maintain, and support packaged (such as off-the-shelf) hardware and software based on scripted instructions.

 

Investigate computer problem reports until satisfactory resolution is obtained. Track and maintain a history of work done on personal computers.

 

Work in accordance with assigned priorities and schedules based on assigned notifications created by customers or oneself.

 

Assist ET Service Center by providing coverage answering phones and resolving customer (District colleagues) issues. Communicate effectively with clients on problems and propose and implement solutions in a timely manner.

 

Provide software assistance, including, but not limited to, creation and maintenance of spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.

Salary Information - $16.50 per hour.
