Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Organizational Development Lead located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska.  Position closes Sunday July 6th at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. 

This position will report to the Organizational Development Manager. 

Position Summary

Reporting to the Corporate Organizational Development Manager and located at Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS), the Organizational Development Lead is the senior Organizational Development (OD) position at the site and is expected to coordinate and drive efforts of the NPPD district-wide Organizational Development (OD) leadership and talent development strategy and its related activities at CNS and elsewhere as NPPD needs dictate. This position is a working lead and is expected to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of the Organizational Development Specialist role, while operating as the primary point of contact for OD activities on site.  The incumbent serves as a member of the plant management team, while maintaining CNS alignment with corporate organizational development policies, procedures, and processes.  Position is a peer to the Human Resources Business Partners at CNS and is expected to work closely with that group to ensure internal alignment of actions and strategy. 

In alignment with other site and district-wide Human Resources efforts and acting as an employee development resource and change agent, this position provides opportunities to build a skilled and diverse workforce by facilitating District leadership and talent development initiatives.  The Organizational Development Lead organizes, administers, evaluates, and makes decisions concerning leadership development, the offerings for individual development, team building, and supervisor exploration/development to support the overall mission and future of NPPD and to address the future employment needs of a transitioning workforce.

Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field plus six years of direct work experience in the adult education/training, organizational effectiveness, leadership and talent development, human resources, or related field.  


Experience in nuclear or utility industry strongly preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Position is a working lead and is expected to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of the Organizational Development Specialist role, including delivery of training and learning program content. 
Serve as the senior representative for the CNS site Organizational Development department and participate actively as a member of the CNS site leadership team.   


Represent the NPPD corporate structure to ensure site alignment with NPPD policies, procedures, and processes.  Support district-wide initiatives beyond CNS as needed.


Advise and act in a primary support role to the NPPD Organizational Development Manager regarding appropriate content for organizational development programs and recommend programs to address workforce training and development needs across the entire organization.  


Serve as a primary point of contact for initiatives related to organizational development at CNS; interface with NRC and INPO assessment teams and appropriate Organizational Development responses. 


Collaborate with Human Resources at both site and corporate level to implement business initiatives as they relate to employee performance, retention, leadership development, and job satisfaction.


Collect feedback on program effectiveness and implement continuous improvements.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range.  Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.


Pay Grade -
14 Monthly

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $7,979.00  - $10,173.00

 

Travel Required: 25% to 50% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska)  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.

Retirement Savings

NPPD employees may participate in two retirement plan options – a 401(k) plan and a 457(b) plan. Both plans allow for pre-tax or Roth contributions. After the first six months of employment, the 401(k) plan includes a generous matching contribution from NPPD. The five-year vesting period begins on an employee’s hire date. Our retired employees are eligible for retiree healthcare benefits as well as a life benefit paid out to designated beneficiaries upon their passing.
