Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Receipt Inspector located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska.  Position closes January 1, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. 

 

Position Summary

This position has the responsibility of performing required receipt inspection and testing to comply with ANSI N45.2 and maintains adequate nuclear technical data documentation required by ANSI N45.2.13.

The purpose of this position is to provide mandatory control over the receipt inspection of all nuclear procured material.

Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor's degree and 4 years relevant experience as defined below.

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years relevant experience as defined below.

OR

High school diploma/GED and 8 years relevant experience as defined below.

Warehousing or other related plant, material control or procurement experience preferred. Knowledge of an inventory management system preferred. SAP experience related to work management or material processing is preferred.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Must be able to obtain and maintain certification of receipt inspection activity and Quality Control (QC) Level II inspector requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform physical receipt inspection in accordance with ANSI N45.2.13 by complying with NRC requirements through a dedicated nuclear receipt inspection program.

Compile technical data documentation as required by nuclear procurement documents to ensure compliance with ANSI N45.2.13.

Perform visual examination and calibration verification of material in accordance with nuclear receipt inspection criteria to ensure product quality is acceptable for reliable nuclear plant operation.

Inspect material to ensure conformance with nuclear standards to prevent fraudulent products from hindering reliable plant operation.

Provide technical support as necessary to review and approve nuclear certification to comply with ANSI N45.2.13 criteria, procurement documents and nuclear technical requirements.

Review supplier documentation for compliance to procurement document technical specification to maintain adequate and proper documentation as required by ANSI N45.2.13.

Execute required receipt inspection activity to include measurement and use of test equipment to ensure accurate receipt inspection of materials at CNS to prevent acceptance of fraudulent material.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range.  Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.

Pay Grade - 11 Monthly

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $5,418.00  - $6,772.00

 

Travel Required: None  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.

Retirement Savings

NPPD employees may participate in two retirement plan options – a 401(k) plan and a 457(b) plan. Both plans allow for pre-tax or Roth contributions. After the first six months of employment, the 401(k) plan includes a generous matching contribution from NPPD. The five-year vesting period begins on an employee’s hire date. Our retired employees are eligible for retiree healthcare benefits as well as a life benefit paid out to designated beneficiaries upon their passing.
