Aviation Maintenance Coordinator

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Aviation Maintenance Coordinator located at the Columbus General Office in Columbus.  Position closes October 25, 2019.

Position Summary

Coordinate and perform safe and effective aircraft maintenance activities for the District and business partner(s).  Coordinates and executes the maintenance programs, maintains tooling and inventory, and works daily with the department and vendors to ensure craft readiness and safe operation. The incumbent will maintain the District hangar keeping it clean and accessible, position and prepare the aircraft when needed, and be responsible for accurate record keeping, manufacture maintenance timelines, and all regulatory and industry required maintenance activities. The incumbent is subject to random drug testing under NPPD’s Fitness for Duty Program.  The incumbant will be required to live within 10 miles of the District’s hangar and is expected to respond to emergencies, travel, and work a flexible schedule including holidays, weekends, and early or late hours.

Education, Training and Experience

High School Diploma or GED required. 

 

Post Secondary Education in aviation maintenance, or Military Experience in aviation maintenance, or aviation maintenance experience is required.

 

Recent (within the last 12 months) multi-engine aircraft aircraft maintenance experience is required.

4 years of mechanical experience on aircraft engines or airframes is required and King Air experience is preferred.

Licenses and/or Certifications

FAA Airframe mechanical certification is required for consideration.  FAA power plant certification is preferred.

 

Inspection Authorization certification is preferred.

 

A Commercial Driver's License is preferred.

 

A Pilots License is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform and schedule maintenance on District and partner aircraft, execute and coordinate the aircraft maintenance program ensuring that the manufacturer inspection programs, all maintenance regulations, all department policy, and all industry required and best practices are followed and completed within applicable timelines.

 

Perform and coordinate scheduled and emergency off hour maintenance and repairs and respond to the daily operational and maintenance needs of the department at all hours.

 

Operate, or travel with, the aircraft as needed to diagnose, analyze, and evaluate as required.   Work with, schedule, and coordinate department staff as well as external resources and service providers to ensure craft readiness and safe operation.

 

Procure and manage tooling and inventory as needed and maintain optimized services levels and provide proper care of tools, equipment, and inventory.

 

Position and fuel the aircraft and perform when needed and perform all necessary maintenance record keeping, data entry, and maintenance regulatory filings. Assist with passenger services and ensure that the aircraft and hangar building is stocked, clean, maintained, accessible, and prepared for daily flight operations. 

 

Perform maintenance and repairs on chasses, vehicles, the hangar, and utility fleet equipment as assigned.   Drive, deliver, and operate electric utility fleet equipment as required.

 

Provide excellent customer service and perform other duties as assigned by the Aviation Manager and as needed to provide safe and efficient air transportation for District business and business partner needs.

Salary Information: $5,658-$7,147 Monthly 

 

Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska)  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
