ET-Applications Technical Analyst

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a ET-Applications Technical Analyst located at Columbus General Office in Columbus

Position closes April 9, 2020. 

Position Summary

We are looking for a talented and motivated developer excited about improving their skill-set in front-end and back-end development, specifically in an SAP environment. 

This may be an entry-level position for colleagues possessing a relevant bachelor’s degree with no previous ET/Corporate Security work experience. This may also be an advanced position for those colleagues advancing from ET Support Technician. 

This position will be expected to participate in the full project life cycle including gathering requirements, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support of applications.

Experience gained in this position includes problem analysis and resolution, systems design, and knowledge of the operating systems and networks used by the District.

Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (OR) an Associate's degree and 3 years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and 5 years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Security Clearance: Incumbent may be required to satisfy any existing and future District security clearance or background check requirements for access to key NPPD locations and/or supporting sensitive business applications.

Obtain and maintain intermediate to advanced technical certification aligned with key business system platform(s) used at the District (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Certifications, and Security related best practices) as applicable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Understand customer issues, diagnose problems and design solutions.

Analyze, design, develop, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and provide direction and support for complex systems, applications and databases in support of the District’s computing environment.

Provide technical architecture recommendations and apply best practices in system design, development, and testing.

Collaborate with/advise/coach other ET/Corporate Security and business unit analysts to ensure understanding of business and technical work processes, tools and best practices.  

Evaluate, create, document, and test complex system-related interfaces and integration.

Provide 24/7 system support, carry a mobile communications device, and perform duties from remote locations such as home and during business travel.


Ideal Technical Skills

Consuming and creating oData services.

Sound knowledge of Web Services and Rest APIs.

Good understanding of Javascript and HTML5

Experience with Chrome/Edge debuggers.

SAPUI5 library, MVC patterns, and modern UI5 development approaches.

Hands-on experience on SAP UI5.

Backend development in an SAP context including familiarity with object-oriented ABAP.

Strong experience in UI design.

Experience with one or more version control systems.

Experience on any leading enterprise mobility platform.

Salary Information: $5,777 - $7,297 Monthly 

Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska)  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
