IT Developer/Analyst

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a IT Developer/Analyst located at Columbus General Office in Columbus. Position closes April 16, 2021.

Position Summary

This position is accountable for helping the ET Corporate Applications Support team support and manage the District’s processes and other related applications.  This support includes:

  • Developing / maintaining applications and custom code
  • Implementing and supporting application configuration
  • Developing analytics and reporting required to support the District’s business processes
  • Participating in the full project life cycle process including gathering requirements, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support of applications
  • Work closely with our business unit customers, ET technology and Security teams to ensure business requirements are implemented and meet customer expectations

Education, Training and Experience

Technical Analyst

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (OR) an Associate's degree and 3 years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and 5 years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below. 

 

Systems Analyst

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field and 3 years technical IT experience includingspecific experience as listed below (OR) an Associates degree and 6 years technical IT experience includingspecific experience as listed below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and 8 years technical IT experienceincluding specific experience as listed below.

 

Experience

Ideal Technical Skills

  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming
  • Experience with or Motivated to Learn and Provide:

           Technical Support and Software Configuration of Materials Management and Inventory Processing

           Technical Support and Software Configuration for Procurement and Accounts Payable Processing

           Coordinate Support Services Contract with 3rd Party Vendors

  • Develop and support Exports and Imports to multiple sources

Licenses and/or Certifications

Security Clearance: Incumbent may be required to satisfy any existing and future District security clearance or background check requirements for access to key NPPD locations and/or supporting sensitive business applications.

 

Obtain and maintain intermediate to advanced technical certification aligned with key business system platform(s) used at the District (for example, SAP, Microsoft Certifications, and Security related best practices) as applicable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Analyze, design, develop, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide direction and support for complex systems, applications and databases in support of the District’s computing environment. Provide technical architecture recommendations and apply best practices in system design, development, and testing. Collaborate with/advise/coach other ET/Corporate Security and business unit analysts to ensure understanding of business and technical work processes, tools, and best practices.

 

Evaluate, create, document, and test complex system-related interfaces and integration.

 

Maintains efficient and effective management of vendor contract service relationships pertaining to technical services.

 

Provide 24/7 system support, carry a mobile communications device, and perform duties from remote locations such as home and during business travel.

Lead the development and implementation of training and communications plans/materials.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. 

Pay Grade – 12 Monthly Exempt (Technical Analyst)

Pay Grade – 13 Monthly Exempt (Systems Analyst)

Typical Pay Grade 12 Starting Salary Range: $5,582-$6,978

Typical Pay Grade 13 Starting Salary Range: $6,138-$7,673

Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska)  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
