Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Pricing & Rates Analyst located at Columbus General Office in Columbus, Nebraska. Position closes February 12 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
This position will report to the Pricing & Rates Manager.
Position Summary
The incumbent is accountable for working independently with limited supervision to provide technical development and analysis for various pricing and rates projects. This includes completing segments of wholesale rate studies and retail cost of service rate studies and the formula rate template for establishing transmission rates in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) as well as overall completion of smaller rate studies. The incumbent is also accountable for the development of analytical tools and analyses to address and satisfy the specific customer and NPPD colleague requests.
The Pricing and Rates Analyst role is intended to serve as a development role with the goal of advancing to the Pricing and Rates Coordinator role based on performance, experience, and advanced duty fulfillment.
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field is required.
Demonstrated professional-level analysis skills in a quantitative field such as rates, accounting, finance or engineering. Previous rate-making experience is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide technical development and assistance on various pricing and rates projects, including analyses relating to wholesale and retail customers compiling information to assist in the completion of certain aspects of wholesale rate studies, retail cost of service rate studies and other smaller rate studies.
Develop, gather, and interpret data and provide analysis utilizing multiple sources (Accounting, Finance, Billing, Engineering, SPP, etc.) to complete segments of wholesale rate studies and retail cost of service rate studies and the SPP rate template.
Gather data and provide the analysis necessary to fully complete existing smaller rate studies and projects, including modification of rate schedules.
Provide assistance and develop analytical tools and perform rate estimates and analyses for wholesale and retail customers and NPPD colleagues (account managers, Economic Development, Billing, Customer Services, etc.).
Collect, monitor, interpret and analyze data from SPP, accounting records, market research, load research, industry data and energy market data for use in pricing and rate projects.
Develop, create, and provide rate calculation and rate analysis tools for use by NPPD colleagues and external customers.
Responsible for ascertaining the reasonableness of data and analysis and how to correct flawed data or obtain correct data.
Accountable for other duties as assigned.

In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.
Pay Grade - 12 Monthly
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $6,288.00 - $7,860.00
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
