Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Project Coordinator, Senior Project Coordinator, Or Project Manager located at Columbus General Office, Kearney Operations Center, Norfolk Operations Center, York Operations Center in Columbus, Nebraska. Position closes March 18th, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
This position will report to the Senior Project Manager.
Position Summary
The incumbent uses specific methodology to plan, schedule, and track project work; and uses identified tools to collect, compute, and format the entire range of project data relative to work performed, deadlines, schedules, cost, cash flow, and a variety of other information.
The incumbent applies an overall approach to assemble a comprehensive plan and cover all areas of work which is at all times flexible and will quickly and accurately reflect the effects of any changes in any aspect of the project plan.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that assigned projects are safely executed on schedule, within cost limits, and to the quality specified.
Education, Training and Experience
Education
Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree (preferably in a technical field) and five years of experience.
OR
Associate's degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of seven years of experience.
OR
High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) and a minimum of nine years of experience is required.
Prior Related Experience
Experience preferred to be in engineering, operations, work control, maintenance, technology, or related functions at an electric utility. Previous nuclear experience is strongly preferred for nuclear positions.
Licenses and/or Certifications
The incumbent is required to obtain Project Management Professional (PMP) certification within one year of position acceptance.
Prerequisite requirements for PMP certification:
BA/BS degree, 4,500 hours of qualified* project management experience, and 36 non-overlapping months of qualified* project management experience.
High school diploma, 7,500 hours of qualified* project management experience, and 60 non-overlapping months of qualified* project management experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Proficiently execute project management best practices from assignment to closeout and ensure that all phases of the projects meet approved safety, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
Understand and operate the Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) Project Systems Module. (External hires must complete Project Systems Module training prior to being assigned a project.)
Maintain an active interface with the customer and assure the customer criteria and objectives are met and the customer is kept fully aware of progress and participates in major decisions.
Plan, assemble, organize, supervise, and maintain a project management team to successfully execute all phases of projects. Administer all policies and procedures associated with project personnel. Define and manage interfaces.
Plan, schedule, and execute all phase projects in accordance with District project management policies and guidelines. Decide the degree of detailed planning necessary to effectively manage each phase project.
Develop contracting and material procurement strategies that optimize cost, schedule, and quality considerations in conjunction with procurement and contracts. Negotiate changes to contracts within the general scope of work with support of contract administration.
Establish project control and risk mitigation strategies and ensure their implementation to evaluate critical elements of the work and identify forecasted variances from plans so that corrective action can be taken in a timely manner.

In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Pay Grade - 13
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $7,053.00 - $8,816.00
Senior Project Coordinator
Pay Grade - 14
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $7,979.00 - $10,173.00
Project Manager
Pay Grade - 15 Monthly
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $9,155.00 - $11,673.00
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
