Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Princeton Road Station Facility Manager located at Princeton Road Station in Hallam, Nebraska. Position closes October 21st, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
This position will report to the Sheldon - Beatrice Station Manager.
Position Summary
The incumbent is responsible for the safe, reliable, efficient, and regulatory compliant operation and maintenance of a new Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engine (RICE)/Combustion Turbine (CT) generating facility to be located south of Lincoln, Nebraska.
This includes the overall management of the generating Station, including operations and maintenance departments, as well as supporting staff. This position is the permanent on-site leader for the entire facility and reports directly to the Sheldon/BPS Station manager.
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Industrial Supervision, or other related field and three (3) years’ experience as listed below (OR)
Associate degree or military equivalent in operations or maintenance discipline and five (5) years of experience as listed below (OR)
High school diploma/GED and seven (7) years’ experience as listed below.
Prior Related Experience:
Three (3) years in a supervisory role in a power plant facility is required.
Demonstrated broad-based understanding of power plant operations and maintenance, planning and budgeting, personnel management, managing contractors, regulatory compliance, and the work management processes is required.
Experience with the design/operation/maintenance of large RICE, diesel, or heavy fuel engines, and/CT facilities is desired.
Other work experience or demonstrated performance indicating the applicant has the skills and ability to perform the required duties of the position may be substituted for the specified years of experience.
Additional preferred competencies: Knowledge of power station systems, asset management process, maintenance practices, and a general understanding of the Reliability Based Optimization (RBO) program. Ability to allocate multiple resources and prioritize work as well as effective communication skills and leadership ability. Ability to build and encourage teamwork within the department and between departments; sharing information and resources to achieve a common goal. Personnel development skills, including coaching, mentoring and succession planning. Ability to operate computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and NPPD's CMMS software.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safe Operation and Maintenance of the RICE/CT Generating Facility and its personnel is a core responsibility of this position.
Assist with facility design, contract review, and contractor management. Assembles a core supervisory team and manage overall operation and maintenance of the power station. This includes close coordination with other NPPD work groups and owner’s engineers.
Work with the finance group and site management in budget preparation and cost control for their work unit. Coordinate with all relevant work groups and management in the development of an overall station budget.
Responsible for ensuring station compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintain station security, emergency response planning for all personnel on plant site, and ensure compliance with all District and governmental regulations.
Establish continuous personal development for their employees; provide training, practice career planning, coaching, and counseling in the work unit. Is responsible for supervisory activities including, but not limited to, hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, and salary administration. Leads by example and is a working leader.
Continually ensure processes are improved to keep the work unit efficient and effective. Sets and tracks performance measures to monitor work unit performance. Promote beneficial change and is responsible for continual process improvement.

In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.
Pay Grade - 17
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $12,743.00 - $16,248.00
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
