Customer Care Intern - Summer 2024

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Customer Care Intern - Summer 2024 located at Norfolk Customer Care Center in Norfolk, Nebraska.  Position will be posted for a minimum of 14 days starting on September 20 and will close December 1, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time or until the position is filled.  

 

Incumbent will work Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. mid-May to mid-August 2024.

 

Position Summary

This is a temporary entry-level customer care position. Incumbent assumes primary accountability for customer relationships by assisting customers with after normal business hours with inquiries, requests, and outage calls.

Education, Training and Experience

The Intern must be enrolled in an accredited two‑year or four‑year college/university carrying a minimum of 12 semester units or eight quarter units with freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior standing in a related major and must maintain enrollment throughout the internship. The internship/training must be in the student's field of study. College credit may apply to some internships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by providing knowledge-based solutions to customer issues that are in the best interest of NPPD and our customers. This includes account collections, requests, and outage calls.

 

Ensure the integrity of information provided to customers by referencing specific procedures and reference documents.

 

Effectively use NPPD systems such as SOS, CISCO phone system, and SharePoint to successfully complete assigned tasks.

 

Follow NPPD safety processes and procedures.

Accountable for other duties as assigned.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. 

Pay Grade - 99 Hourly

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $18.00/hour

 

Travel Required:   Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
