Position Summary
The Distribution planner/scheduler positions are primarily responsible for the planning and scheduling of all capital and maintenance work within the Operations business unit. The incumbent will be responsible for creating SAP orders/networks, creating and maintaining integrated schedules, creating detailed design packages, communicating with end use customers, and maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction while understanding and applying all NPPD policies and procedures. The incumbent provides resolution and guidance for planning and scheduling tasks to NPPD crews and contractors. The incumbent will support the Business Units responsibilities of maintaining excellent public relations and associated District operations.
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor's degree (preferably in an applicable field) and a minimum of two (2) years experience as described below OR Associate's Degree in a technical field and a minimum of four (4) years experience as described below OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of eight (8) years experience as described below.
Experience in applicable business unit operations is required. Engineering, utility maintenance, project management or utility line is preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with applicable NPPD software tools is preferred.
Demonstrated broad based understanding of work management processes preferred.
Prior experience in Distribution Lines and/or Transmission Lines and/or Substations is preferred, but not required.
NOTE: Other work experience or demonstrated performance indicating that the applicant has the skills and ability to perform the required duties may be substituted for the specific years of experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Create detailed work packages utilizing SAP and Design Manager (when applicable). Work packages to include information for use by field personnel to complete required maintenance and capital work during normal operations and planned or unplanned outages. This shall also include Preventive Maintenance Plans.
Communicate with customers and maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction by producing multiple, value-added designs and estimates that meet the customers’ needs.
Serve as the liaison with other departments to ensure accuracy of the design, material, and labor resources. This shall include advising, directing, and coaching others in the skills of planning and or scheduling.
Understand accounting and budgeting process, technical reports, application of construction standards, extension policy, and ROW issues.
Incumbent must be proficient with personal computers including the use of standard NPPD software including SAP, PASTA, and Microsoft Office Products. The knowledge of GIS and Design Manager is also preferable.
Incumbent will actively participate in group meetings, feedback sessions, etc., striving for continued personal and overall process improvement.
Incumbent will complete field work (as necessary) which will include line staking, safety observations, and field review of existing facilities. Must have familiarity with applicable regulatory changes and ensure regulatory compliance.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.
Pay Grade - 13 Monthly
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $7,264.00 - $9,081.00
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
