Applications Developer

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Applications Developer located at Columbus General Office, Columbus, NE, York Operations Center, York NE or Norfolk Operations Center, Norfolk, NE.  

Position closes July 12, 2020.  

Position Summary

We are looking for a talented and motivated developer excited about improving their skill set in front-end and back-end development, specifically in an SAP environment. 

This individual will participate in the full project life cycle process including gathering requirements from Business Units, system design, development, testing, deployment, implementation, documentation and support.

The selected candidate must work closely with our Business Units, ET technology team and Security teams to ensure business requirements are implemented and that customer expectations are achieved.

Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (OR) an Associate's degree and 3 years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and 5 years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below.

Ideal Technical Skills

 

Backend development in SAP including familiarity with ABAP, ABAP Dictionary, Object-Oriented ABAP

Provide SAP core support functions (PM/PS/FI/HR/etc)

SAP Cloud Platform, CPI, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Success Factors (SF), Concur

Consuming and creating oData service

Sound knowledge of Web Services and Rest APIs

Good understanding of JavaScript and HTML5

Licenses and/or Certifications

Security Clearance: Incumbent may be required to satisfy any existing and future District security clearance or background check requirements for access to key NPPD locations and/or supporting sensitive business applications.

Obtain and maintain intermediate to advanced technical certification aligned with key business system platform(s) used at the District (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Certifications, and Security related best practices) as applicable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Analyze, design, develop, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and provide direction and support for complex systems, applications and databases in support of the District’s computing environment. Provide technical architecture recommendations and apply best practices in system design, development, and testing. Collaborate with/advise/coach other ET/Corporate Security and business unit analysts to ensure understanding of business and technical work processes, tools and best practices.  

 

Evaluate, create, document, and test complex system-related interfaces and integration.

 

Maintains efficient and effective management of vendor contract service relationships pertaining to technical services.

 

Provide 24/7 system support, carry a mobile communications device, and perform duties from remote locations such as home and during business travel.

Salary Information: $5,777-$7,297 Monthly 

Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska)  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
