Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a ET Planner Scheduler/ET Senior Planner Scheduler located at York Operations Center in York

Position closes June 2, 2020.  

 

Position Summary

Perform planning, scheduling, and closing processes for engineering and operations work in assigned Enterprise Technology group. Develop complete detailed work packages including ordering and delivery of materials, scheduling of labor, and assisting in the planning. Maintain SAP data records and Preventative Maintenance plans including NERC data information. Perform work management administration processes including capital project planning, assisting in capital project finance tracking and capital rate-track, and strategic division roadmap efforts.

Education, Training and Experience

ET Planner Scheduler 

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field and 2 years' experience in information technology (OR) An Associates' degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field plus 4 years' experience (OR) a high school diploma/GED and 6 years technical IT experience including specific experience noted below.

 

ET Senior Planner Scheduler
Bachelor’s Degree in electronics, Computer Science Information Technology, Business or related field and a minimum of 4 years experience as described below (OR) Associate or Technical Degree in Electronics or Electrical/Mechanical discipline and a minimum of 8 years of experience as described below (OR) High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 10 years experience as described below.  Prior experience with information and telecommunication technology and key corporate business processes is required.

Experience

Demonstrated proficiency with planning, scheduling, and project management tools is required. Experience in Information Technology and/or business unit operations, maintenance, planning, or scheduling is required.

Demonstrated proficiency with project management is required.

Demonstrated broad based understanding of work management processes and overall integration of NPPD's key enabling processes is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

ET Planner Scheduler and ET Senior Planner Scheduler 

Coordinate project work packages for use by craft and other personnel to perform required maintenance. Perform work activities related to: create/modify notifications; daily screening/approval; weekly manager/supervisor integrated screening meeting; interface with technical resources to obtain scope and design and identify internal resources, materials and external services; create orders, plan, estimate, approve and release/modify orders; create/monitor suborders; and schedule and run configuration meetings. Create, plan, modify, and release networks.

 

Coordinate activities of multiple work groups including engineers, craft personnel, other NPPD personnel, and vendors to requisition services and services and stock coded/non-stock material for work packages. Coordinate order development and accounting with materials and services purchasing. Requisition materials and services on orders, vendor contacts, and support; monitor for incoming materials, sort, inventory and notify appropriate personnel.  Requisition materials and services on networks; assist with quotes and maintenance contract requisitions and tracking, getting invoices paid, and goods receipts done when requested from warehouse and/or purchasing; coordinate with non-work management groups to keep work flowing and everyone informed (includes but not limited to DCC, KCC, CNS, Fleet, external entities i.e. State Radio Installs coordination with Fleet, Platte Valley, and technicians).  

 

Data records. Move equipment records in SAP to keep functional inventory records inline; research and assign accurate functional locations, accounting and work centers; Process A41’s for retirement of equipment and forward to Accounting for processing to keep capital records for assets up-to-date. Create new equipment records and functional locations, standardizing naming of the records in SAP.

 

Develop and monitor preventive maintenance (PM) plans. Schedule PM plans per PM schedules; Develop, maintain and close standing orders adjusting them based on changes in the work environment. Call PM plans

 

Direct, oversee, and perform the work closing process. Confirm vehicle usage for groups to drive entry consistency; if assigned by management, locate orders finally confirmed and TECO.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Continued)

Develop and maintain detailed integrated work schedules (daily, weekly, and outage). Practice strict adherence to all safety practices for the work being scheduled. Ensure safety practices are present in work being scheduled; process emergent work orders in a timely manner, including double orders and one calls as required; create “work for others” work orders and follow process (SM02 orders for outside billing); assist Service Desk/TPC as needed; coordinate review of scheduling efforts in Pasta. Monitor vulnerability notifications, process notifications, schedule operations and implementation orders. 

 

Work Management Administration and Metrics. Monitor notifications, orders and progress on schedules and report progress; maintain schedules in Pasta, making certain T+ weeks are being progressed and T- weeks are planned out in detail at least 4 weeks; identify and resolve outstanding, unassigned, and orphan notifications; hold weekly work coordination meetings with work groups and management to prioritize, plan and schedule work; develop and maintain work management related reports and measures; stay current with applicable regulatory changes and ensure regulatory compliance.

 

ET Senior Planner Scheduler 

Develop, review and revise work management guidelines and standards. Advise, direct and coach other personnel in the skills of work management planning and scheduling; coordinate long-term planning and scheduling efforts. A Planner/Scheduler team member will participate in strategic division project planning and scheduling efforts; provide metrics reporting for financial management including capital blanket tracking, monitoring and true-up, work management, materials management, and maintenance records management. Perform project planning, including estimations, labor rates, material costs, and historical searches when required.  

 

Generate engineering/design work packages, order materials from stock or non-stock, schedule labor hours, assemble materials and paperwork and coordinate delivery to installation team.

 

Maintain restricted master data information for NERC records.

Salary Information:   ET Planner Scheduler  $6,480-$8,184 Monthly 

                                    ET Senior Planner Scheduler  $7,368 - $9,490 Monthly

Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska)  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
