Master Data Analyst

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Master Data Analyst located at the York Operations Center (preferred), Columbus General Office, Kearney Operations Center, or the Norfolk Operations Center. Position closes December 2, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. This position will report to the Engineering Supervisor - Asset Health. 

Position Summary

The Master Data Analyst performs varied work assignments with direct supervision in all areas of Master Data. Primary responsibilities include managing transmission, subtransmission, and distribution master data facility data and records in SAP, including Functional Locations and Equipment Masters.

Education, Training and Experience

Requires a Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, accounting, information management, or related field plus one year of related experience; or  Associate's degree in business, accounting, information management, or related field plus 3 years of related experience; or a High School diploma and 5 years of related experience. 


NPPD business unit and process flow/knowledge is required for all experience requirements. Achievement of this knowledge is demonstrated and validated through the recognition of an Analyst position within business unit. 



Nuclear or non-nuclear experience in the areas of continuous improvement, corrective action, performance monitoring (performance indicators), and/or database manipulation.  Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.  Firsthand experience with NPPD’s SAP system as well as demonstrated proficiency in other computer programs i.e., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, or Electric Office. Experience in areas of quality assurance, operations, maintenance, or training. Familiarity with utility practices, technical analytics, or operational metrics is preferred and will be developed.  


Technical process analysis experience is preferred including the use of computers and software such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint to perform analytics, queries, and database processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain and develop data standards techniques used to maintain transmission, sub-transmission, and distribution master data facility data and records in SAP, including Functional Locations and Equipment Masters. Utilize computer and software to compile and prepare reports, charts, and graphs of data developed.  Prepare assigned monthly reports.


Consistently demonstrate an independent, clear understanding & initiative in developing specific analytical tools & applications to support the Transmission and Distribution business plan expectations.  Be able to interpret results & their potential effects on successfully achieving the business plan.


Responsibilities include creating functional and technical specifications for reviewing information, data, drawings, and facility maps as required for data completeness and accuracy.


Produce various SAP reports. Reports include but are not limited to: SAP notifications, SAP orders, SAP networks, Equipment, Functional Location, and Classification data. Incumbent must be capable of updating data in the system.


Assist ET (Enterprise Technology) with SAP testing for new processes and upgrades.

Accountable for other duties as assigned.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. 

Pay Grade - 9 Monthly

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $3,954.68  - $4,943.35


Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska)  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
